Our practice is proud to be among the first to offer the highly anticipated RHA Filler Collection—a collection of FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers designed with dynamic wrinkles and folds in mind. Since their launch, the RHA Filler Collection has become a patient favorite in our office for smoothing and rejuvenating areas like lipstick lines, necklace lines, nasolabial folds, and under-eye hollows.
What sets the RHA Filler Collection apart is its intentional manufacturing and preservation process, which mimics the chemical structure of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in our skin. Unlike Juvéderm and Restylane technology, RHA dermal fillers are engineered to integrate seamlessly with skin tissues, resulting in a softer, more natural appearance. Furthermore, each formulation within the collection is clinically proven to last up to 15 months. Our office offers RHA Redensity, RHA II, and RHA III.
Restylane® and Restylane Lyft®
Restylane® and Restylane Lyft® serve the goal of adding volume to the skin and restoring areas where volume is lacking. Common uses for Restylane include enhancing lip fullness and replenishing lost volume, as well as improving deep-set lines around the mouth (perioral wrinkles).
These cosmetic dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid in the form of a crystal-clear gel known as NASHA™ (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid). Importantly, NASHA is fully compatible with human hyaluronic acid. Restylane® and Restylane Lyft® are safe and natural options for restoring volume and fullness to the lips and the perioral area. They effectively address small wrinkles and the loss of lip volume. Restylane® is also an excellent choice for achieving a larger and shapelier "Russian doll" lips.
The key difference between Restylane® and Restylane Lyft® lies in the particle size and hyaluronic acid cross-linking. Consequently, Restylane Lyft® is well-suited for filling deep lines around the mouth, while Restylane® is the preferred choice for fine-tuning and correcting fine lines while enhancing the lips. The duration of the effects of these treatments varies widely, depending on factors such as skin structure, lifestyle, age, and the desired degree of correction. Typically, scientific literature reports a 50% to 80% retention rate after 6 months for Restylane® and 6 to 12 months for Lyft®. In the case of lip enhancement, Restylane® tends to last around 5 to 6 months.
At SKIN MUSE MD, we offer the complete Restylane family of fillers, including Lyft, Defyne, Refyne, Restylane, and Kysse. Restylane is commonly used to improve deep-set lines and nasolabial folds, build cheekbones, increase lip fullness, and address volume loss. After an injection, minor swelling, tenderness, and bruising may occur, but these symptoms typically resolve quickly. You can return to your normal activities, but it's advisable to avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for at least 24 hours.
JUVÉDERM
JUVÉDERM® injectable gel, made from hyaluronic acid, is FDA-approved for facial enhancement. Its smooth consistency instantly restores volume to your lips and skin while smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds. This includes areas like smile lines, nasolabial folds (the creases from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth), glabellar lines, cheeks, the tail of the brow, under-eye regions, chin, jawline, depressed scars, and marionette lines. JUVÉDERM™ is also an excellent choice for lip enhancement.
The duration of the effects of JUVÉDERM™ treatment varies among individuals and depends on factors like skin structure, lifestyle, age, and the degree of correction desired. On average, scientific literature suggests a 50% to 70% retention rate after 6 months for JUVÉDERM™.
BOTOX and Dysport
While not soft tissue fillers, botulinum derivatives like BOTOX® and Dysport® are popular injectable treatments that synergize effectively with fillers for lip enhancement and overall facial rejuvenation. These treatments are specifically designed to address "dynamic" wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movements and can enhance the effects of fillers. Importantly, both soft tissue filler and BOTOX®/Dysport® injections can be performed in a single session.
